I've taken the plunge.  After letting my capmac membership expire, the former glory of my bloxsom powered net presence has faded.   Rather than continue the insanity of my highly hacked perl script, I decided that the best route for me is to move to a more managed solution.  For now, I've chosen squarespace.  While it lacks some of customizability that I could enable through a programatic solution, it seems to get most of what I want, and it makes it all quite easy.   That's enough for now, and so I'm setting up camp.
